The success formula every digital marketer should know

The success of any social media campaign depends on so many factors but most importantly on the ability of the digital marketing team to develop a comprehensive social listening strategy and include same in the campaign.

As a digital marketer, success and results can easily be achieved when and if you have a good and well balanced strategy in place.
If you are new to digital marketing, it’s important you listen very carefully. Anyone can be a digital marketer but not everyone was meant to be a digital marketer.

Over the years, I have trained and assisted some small business owners to take charge of their digital destiny, while many of them records unprecedented success, others struggle to succeed. The logic is simple, most people listen but don’t understand, others listen, understand but can’t apply, yet some don’t even know how to listen at all.

The most important commodities of any marketer whether digital or not is communication, and communication without good listening skills is just noise.
The first step to digital marketing success is simple : Listen to understand yours goals, listen to understand your audience, listen to understand your team, listen to monitor and measure your progress, listen to engage and build your community.

The next step is to ¬†have a story line: Any marketer will tell you the important of storytelling in marketing, as with traditional marketing, you need a good story line to achieve success in digital marketing. If you don’t know how to tell good stories, try and learn, if you can’t learn, hire a good storyteller.

The next important thing you should know is SEO, SEO is very essential to your success as a digital marketer, you must know how to choose keywords, how to tweak them to work for your brand and how to monitor their performance. Read and learn more on SEO and you won’t regret it.

The formula to Digital marketing success is very simple:  listen, understand, engage, listen and promote.

No matter what the result of your promotions are, learn from it and improve on it. Don’t relax because you have good results or be discourage because of bad results. Always remember, one success is not enough to jump up and one failure is not enough to give up.
